MUCKs are really old. When they first came out, computers were much less powerful than they are today. To slow down the speed that the very finite resources were used up, creating things on a MUCK (or doing CPU-intensive tasks) uses up "pennies", that are given to users gradually over time as they explore the world.

Now, two decades later, the resources needs of a MUCK are negligible but pennies remain, now just existing as another thing to have fun with. Austin changes the name of pennies every day to something silly (and often relevant to a current event), which is why this article uses the generic name of "currency".

Commands

give character=amount - Give some of your currency to another player.

score - Displays how much currency you have. inventory will also display this information.

rob - Attempts to steal a single unit of currency from someone else.

fund - Attempts to give you 10,000 more of the currency. The command is a reference to the famous 'cheat' in SimCity. As with SimCity there is a one in ten chance of failure. If fund fails you will lose all your currency in an earthquake localized to you. This might be used be used if the currency system actually prevents you from building something. It is better used for amusement. If you do need currency it is safer to ask any wizard, who will ordinarily give you as much as you need.
