Soulhun is an ancient language commonly used by wizards due to its arcanopotency, which means that speaking in the language makes it much easier to cast spells. While many arcanopotent languages arose with dragons or elves, due to these two kinds of race frequently having an affinity for magic, Soulhun did not, instead coming from aetheral travellers.
Soulhun is currently being taught as part of the magic course offered by the University of St. Marin.
Grammar
Main article: Soulhun Grammar
The word order in simple Soulhun sentences is the same as in English, (subject) (verb) (object), such as loyn arrantim vhaylun "I create wind". Verbs must conjugate according to their subject, similarly to English (e.g. I am, you are, he is), but unlike English, there are verb endings for each person for all verbs, e.g. xern arrantulnay vhaylun "the spell creates wind". These endings are -im for the first person loyn, and -(u)lnay for the third person, such as when the subject is a noun (the (u) means that that letter is dropped when the verb ends in a vowel as well, like vousjelnay "mimics", from vousje-).
